Punjab govt had imposed Section 144 by banning gatherings and processions


Rawalpindi, Faisalabad: Cases have been registered against the leadership and workers of the religious party Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) in Rawalpindi and Faisalabad over the protest.
In Rawalpindi, a case has been registered against the local leadership and workers, including the leader of a religious party, Saad Rizvi, for violating Section 144, including blocking the road, firing directly, resisting, and snatching ammunition.
The case was registered under the provisions of the Anti-Terrorism Act, attempt to murder, robbery and criminal conspiracy, and inciting the public, etc. In this case, 21 leaders and workers, including Saad Rizvi and Qari Bilal, have been named, and 35 have been kept unknown.
The case was registered on the police complaint that the accused blocked the road and burned tires in the Chak Belly Road Jatha Hathial. Saad Hussain Rizvi had given a call to block the road from Lahore to Islamabad. The Punjab government had imposed Section 144 by banning gatherings and processions.
According to the text of the case, Qari Bilal, along with 21 office bearers and workers who were armed with Kalashnikovs and other weapons, petrol bombs, nail sticks, along 35 other unknown persons, were inciting the public. The accused immediately opened fire on seeing the police.
According to the text, Qari Abrar opened fire with a Kalashnikov, and the bullet hit Constable Adnan, who was safe due to his bulletproof jacket. Qari Danish caught Constable Nazir and tortured him, snatched 150 tear gas shells, and tore his uniform.
On the other hand, cases were registered against 54 protesters in Civil Lines and Jhang Bazar police stations in Faisalabad. A case was registered against 23 nominated and 6 unknown persons at the Civil Lines police station.
A case was registered against 5 nominated and 20 unknown persons at Jhang Bazar police station. The cases include anti-terrorism, violation of Section 144, road block, aerial firing, and other provisions.
