Leadership of extremist party would be included in Fourth Schedule of Anti-Terrorism Act


Lahore: The Punjab government has decided to recommend a ban on the extremist party to the federal government.
A meeting on law and order, chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, decided that those involved in hate speech, incitement, and lawbreaking in Punjab would be arrested immediately.
The meeting’s announcement said that the Punjab government would recommend a ban on the extremist party to the federal government. The leadership of the extremist party would be included in the Fourth Schedule of the Anti-Terrorism Act.
According to the announcement, cases will be filed against leaders and workers involved in the martyrdom of police officers and the destruction of government property. All properties and assets of the extremist party would be handed over to the Auqaf Department, and there would be a complete ban on posters, banners, and advertisements of the extremist party.
The announcement of the meeting, chaired by the Punjab Chief Minister said that the social media accounts of the extremist party spreading hatred would be deleted. All bank accounts of the extremist party would be frozen, and strictest action would be taken against violations of the Loudspeaker Act.
According to the announcement, the Punjab Home Department has issued an ultimatum to deposit illegal weapons within a month. Citizens will register their legal weapons with the Khidmat Markaz within a month. It has also been decided to inspect the stocks of arms sellers and all dealers. A complete ban has been imposed on issuing new arms licenses in Punjab.
According to the announcement of the meeting, the Punjab government has recommended that the federal government regularize arms factories and manufacturers, while the provincial government has also approved an increase in the punishment for possessing illegal weapons.
Possessing illegal weapons in Punjab will be a non-bailable offense. The punishment for possessing illegal weapons will be 14 years in prison and a fine of up to Rs2 million.
