Kurram: Security forces on Wednesday carried out an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Dogar area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Kurram district following confirmed reports about the presence of militants linked to Fitna al Khwarij, an Indian-backed proxy group.
According to the ISPR, the operation was launched on confirmed intelligence reports regarding the presence of militants belonging to an Indian-sponsored proxy network.
The statement said that during the intense exchange of fire, Captain Nauman Saleem, a brave and young medical officer, along with Havildar Amjad Ali, Naik Waqas Ahmed, Sepoy Ejaz Ali, Sepoy Muhammad Waleed, and Sepoy Muhammad Shehbaz, fought valiantly and embraced martyrdom.
The ISPR paid tribute to Captain Nauman Saleem, noting that he not only provided medical support on the frontlines but also fought courageously until his last breath.
The spokesperson added that a clearance operation is underway in the area to eliminate any remaining militants believed to be linked with the Indian-backed network.
The ISPR reaffirmed that Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies remain fully committed to eradicating terrorism from the country, stating that all such threats — especially those supported from abroad will be neutralized with full force.
