Rawalpindi: Security forces foiled an infiltration attempt along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, killing four terrorists, including a high-value Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) commander.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Amjad was the deputy of the foreign militant Noor Wali and head of the Rahbari Shura. A bounty of Rs. 5 million had been placed on his head.
ISPR stated that Amjad had been involved in anti-Pakistan activities while based in Afghanistan. Pakistan has repeatedly urged Afghan authorities to ensure that Afghan soil is not used for activities against Pakistan.
The ISPR further noted that the leadership of Fitna al-Khawarij present inside Afghanistan has been involved in attempts to infiltrate Pakistan. Pakistan has once again demanded that Afghan soil not be allowed to be used for anti-Pakistan activities.
In its statement, the military spokesperson added that Pakistani forces remain fully committed to defending the country’s borders, and that counter-terrorism operations under Operation Azm-e-Istehkam will continue with full intensity.
