Peshawar: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has reaffirmed that Pakistan desires peace with all its neighbors, including Afghanistan, but will not tolerate cross-border terrorism originating from Afghan soil. He emphasized that all areas of Pakistan will be completely cleared of terrorists and their facilitators.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Asim Munir visited Peshawar, where he met with tribal elders and attended a jirga.
Upon his arrival, he was received by the Commander of Peshawar Corps. During his visit to the 11 Corps Headquarters, he was briefed on the security situation, border management, operational preparedness, and ongoing counter-terrorism efforts.
The tribal elders reaffirmed their full support to Pakistan’s armed forces in the fight against terrorism and the Afghan Taliban’s militant activities.

Addressing the jirga, Field Marshal Munir lauded the unwavering support of the tribal people and paid tribute to their cooperation with security forces amid recent Pak-Afghan tensions.
The tribal elders, in turn, expressed solidarity with the Pakistan Army and spoke out against the excesses of the Afghan Taliban.
The Army Chief reiterated that Pakistan has repeatedly extended diplomatic and economic cooperation to the Afghan government to improve bilateral relations. However, he warned that the Afghan Taliban regime is providing backing to Indian-supported terrorist groups such as Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan.
Field Marshal Munir vowed to eliminate terrorism completely from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and across the country, while praising the resilience and sacrifices of the people of the province in the fight against terror.
The tribal elders appreciated the Army Chief’s clear stance, affirming that the extremist ideology of Fitna al-Khawarij finds no acceptance among the tribal communities.
