Pakistan, Saudi Arabia vow to contribute towards regional peace

Pakistan, Saudi Arabia vow to contribute towards regional peace

Riyadh: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have reaffirmed their commitment to further deepen their long-standing fraternal ties and contribute towards regional peace, stability and self-reliance.

The commitment was reiterated during a meeting between Chief of General Staff Pakistan Army Lieutenant General Syed Aamer Raza and Chief of General Staff, Royal Saudi Armed Forces General Fayyadh Bin Hameed Al-Rowaily at Riyadh.  

Matters of mutual strategic interest were discussed during the meeting with a special focus on strengthening bilateral defence cooperation, enhancing interoperability and advancing collaboration under the Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement.

The Chief of General Staff Pakistan Army also led Pakistan's tri-services delegation at a Special Meeting of the Pak-Saudi Bilateral Defence Industrial Forum held in Riyadh. 

He reaffirmed Pakistan's continued support for the capacity building of the Royal Saudi Defence Forces.

Both sides at the Forum reviewed the progress of ongoing defence cooperation projects and discussed new avenues for joint ventures in emerging technologies in line with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030.

The Saudi leadership appreciated Pakistan's commitment, achievements and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and vital contributions to regional peace and stability.
