Lakki Marwat: A suicide attack on a police van in Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa resulted in the martyrdom of one police officer and left six others injured, while one militant was killed during a search operation.
According to police officials, the mobile van of Tajori Police Station was targeted in a suicide attack near Katu Khel Adda. Two of the injured officers are said to be in critical condition, and the Additional SHO is also among the injured.
Police said that one suicide attacker was killed during the attack on the police vehicle, while the other managed to escape.
Officials further stated that both attackers had been standing by the roadside. As the police vehicle approached, one of the attackers detonated himself, while the second fled the scene.
Following the suicide attack on the police vehicle, the police party, along with local residents, immediately launched a clearance operation. In the Sarai Naurang area, they encountered a militant who was killed in an exchange of fire.
Police officials said that initial information confirms that the explosion was a suicide attack.
