Rawalpindi: Security forces carried out a successful operation in the Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing two Khwarij, including a highly wanted terrorist.
According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), on December 24, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in the Kulachi area of Dera Ismail Khan after receiving information about the presence of Khwarij.
During the operation, the security forces effectively targeted the Khwarij hideout, and as a result of the exchange of fire, two Khwarij were killed, including the ring leader Dilawar.
The ISPR spokesperson further stated that the killed Khwarij, Dilawar, was highly wanted by law enforcement agencies and was involved in multiple terrorist activities. The government had announced a reward of 4 million rupees for his arrest.
According to the spokesperson, weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the possession of the killed Khwarij. These terrorists were involved in several acts of terrorism, including attacks on security forces and the killing of innocent civilians.
ISPR further stated that clearance and search operations are ongoing in the area to eliminate any other terrorists operating under Indian patronage.
The Pakistan Army spokesperson added that, in line with the vision “Azm-e-Istehkam” approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue counter-terrorism operations until foreign-sponsored terrorism is completely eradicated.
