Pakistan supports Saudi and UAE diplomatic efforts to ensure peace and stability in Yemen

Islamabad: Pakistan has expressed its full support for the diplomatic efforts of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to ensure peace and stability in the Republic of Yemen.

According to details, Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andarabi said that Pakistan is closely monitoring the current situation in Yemen.

He stated that Pakistan supports Saudi Arabia’s diplomatic efforts for peace in Yemen and hopes that these initiatives will lead to the establishment of lasting peace in the country.

The Foreign Office spokesperson also appreciated the efforts of the United Arab Emirates regarding stability in Yemen and emphasized the need to respect Yemen’s territorial integrity.

In a statement issued by the spokesperson, it was expressed that Pakistan hopes all parties will refrain from any unilateral actions that could further escalate tensions, and that all stakeholders will jointly seek a political solution through dialogue.

It is worth noting that tensions continue between Yemen’s ousted President Mansour Hadi and armed groups of the Southern Transitional Council in southern Yemen, with frequent clashes occurring between the two sides.

These clashes began several years ago in Aden and later spread to Socotra Island and other regions, during which hundreds of people were killed or injured.
