Bilawal says Sacrifices of Benazir Bhutto for democracy will always be remembered

Web Desk: The 18th death anniversary of former Prime Minister Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto was observed today [Saturday].
Pakistan People’s Party has arranged special events across the country today to pay glowing tribute to her selfless leadership as a champion of democracy and a saviour of human rights.
Born in Karachi in June 1953, Benazir Bhutto struggled for democracy, rule of law and women empowerment throughout her life.
She ran a highly popular and inclusive electoral campaign in the general elections in 1988 and emerged as the first woman Prime Minister of Pakistan and the entire Muslim World.
Benazir Bhutto also won 1993 elections and become the prime Minister second time before exile which ended when she returned to Pakistan in October 2007.
On the directions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, a high-level government delegation is also in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh to attend the main ceremony marking the death anniversary of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed.
The delegation includes Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Prime Minister's Adviser on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah, and Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.
The government delegation will pay rich tribute to Shaheed Benazir Bhutto's services for the nation and her pivotal role in strengthening democracy, upholding the supremacy of the Constitution, and her lifelong struggle for the rights of the people.
The delegation will also hold meetings with the central leadership, party workers, and supporters of the Pakistan People's Party.
The delegation will also participate in a special prayer ceremony.

Addressing the public gathering in connection with the 18th death anniversary of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto at Ghari Khuda Bakhsh Bhutto this evening, he said the PPP continues to follow the vision of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.
He said Shaheed Benazir Bhutto as a symbol of unity for all federating units of the country. He said that PPP has rendered countless sacrifices for Pakistan.
He also paid tribute to the Armed Forces for their bravery during the war with India in May this year.
Bilawal Bhutto also highlighted country's socio-economic and political challenges.
