According to The Telegraph, Pakistan significantly strengthened its diplomatic and military presence on the global stage in 2025

Web Desk: In 2025, another acknowledgment has emerged recognizing Pakistan’s diplomatic and military successes on the global stage. The British newspaper The Telegraph has also acknowledged Pakistan’s successful international diplomacy, describing Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir as the central figure behind these achievements.
According to The Telegraph, Pakistan significantly strengthened its diplomatic and military presence on the global stage in 2025.
The British daily noted that Pakistan’s effective diplomacy has received international recognition, with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir playing a key role by remaining on the “front foot.” Pakistan not only succeeded in rebuilding confidence in its favor in the United States but also demonstrated its strategic importance through concrete and practical measures.
According to the report, the extradition of the suspect involved in the Abbey Gate attack to the United States, along with closer ties with the Trump administration, marked a major turning point in Pakistan–US relations.
During an address to the US Congress, President Trump expressed special appreciation for Pakistan’s practical cooperation in counterterrorism efforts. Despite bitter experiences during his previous term, Pakistan managed to regain a strong position in Washington.
The report stated that despite intense lobbying by India, Pakistan achieved clear diplomatic superiority on this occasion. Pakistan was granted more favorable trade concessions on tariff-related matters compared to several other countries, and both the Prime Minister and Field Marshal Asim Munir were granted direct access to the Oval Office.
According to The Telegraph, Pakistan’s effective diplomacy at the White House helped reshape the overall environment, while the nomination of President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize proved to be an extraordinary diplomatic move.
The extradition of the Abbey Gate attack suspect to the United States just two days after his arrest clearly demonstrated Pakistan’s serious intent. A former US official described this step as a powerful signal of growing trust in Pakistan–US relations.
The report further noted that Pakistan adopted a responsible approach during periods of regional tension and managed its relationship with the White House through unconventional diplomacy.
In June 2025, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir held a private, off-the-record meeting with President Trump, after which Trump reportedly referred to him as his “favorite field marshal.”
Pakistan also established itself as an effective and responsible strategic partner in the Middle East. Closer relations with GCC countries and a balanced relationship with Iran proved to be additional diplomatic strengths.
Furthermore, Pakistan presented a practical solution to the issue of critical minerals for the United States, and in September signed a Pakistan–US memorandum of understanding on mineral reserves valued at $6 trillion, a development described globally as a major surprise.
The Telegraph acknowledged that as a result of Pakistan’s effective diplomacy, the country has regained central importance in Washington, while its overall significance on the global stage has further increased.
