Karachi: Lawyers in Karachi announced a strike at the City Court on Wednesday over the failure to register an FIR against YouTuber Rajab Butt.
Karachi Bar Association President Aamir Waraich stated that no police officer would be allowed to enter the City Court on Wednesday until a case is registered against Rajab Butt on the lawyers’ application, and that the protest would continue until then.
The lawyers have called an emergency meeting at the City Court at 11 a.m. tomorrow. According to the President of the Karachi Bar, a further course of action will be announced after the meeting.
Earlier, the President of the Karachi Bar said that they learned in the morning that a case had been registered against the lawyers. He added that an FIR should also be registered against them, warning that if no FIR is lodged, the scope of the protest will be expanded.
