Islamabad: At least eight people, including a newlywed couple, were killed and 11 others injured in a gas cylinder explosion at a wedding house in Pakistan’s federal capital, Islamabad, in the early hours of Sunday, officials said.
The blast occurred around 2:00 am inside a residential building in the G-7/2 sector, where a wedding ceremony was taking place. The powerful explosion caused panic in the area and damaged nearby houses.
All 19 people trapped under the rubble were rescued during the operation.
