Islamabad: Pakistan has reported a share surge in Covid-19 deaths as threat of delta variant looms large in Pakistan.


According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 4,040 cases of coronavirus were reported while 53 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 23,918.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 1,071,620.
As many as 964,404 patients have recovered from the disease with 3,805 critical cases.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 364,680 in the province with 11,201 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 400,400 in the province, while the death toll has reached 6,215.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 148,619 in the province with 4,556 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 31,177 confirmed cases while 331 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 27,288 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 646. On the other hand, there are 8,796 cases in GB with 153 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 90,660 cases in the capital city while 816 people have lost their lives.
