Karachi: At least five people were killed after massive fire broke out in a house located in Karachi’s Muhammad Ali Society Sultan Road.
According to details, huge blaze erupted in a house located in metropolitan city as a result of which smoke accumulated in the building leaving five dead due to suffocation.
After getting information, fire brigade and rescue teams reached the spot and diminished the blaze.
Following the completion of rescue operation, all dead bodies were moved to Jinnah Hospital for postmortem.
Among the dead include two women and three men. The deceased have been identified as 80-year old Sultan Mirza, 72-year old Shazia Mirza, 78-year old Sabiha Mirza, 60-year old Farhat Mirza and their house help Akbar.
The cause of the fire is still not known.
One firefighter also lost consciousness during the rescue operation and was shifted to hospital for treatment.
