Arshad Nadeem gets hero’s welcome upon return to Pakistan, says ‘will play best game in future’
Lahore: Pakistan's star Olympian athlete Arshad Nadeem received a warm welcome at Lahore's Allama Iqbal International Airport where he landed after putting up a remarkable performance at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.


According to details, a large number of people had gathered at the airport to welcome the athlete before his arrival. People cheered, clapped and raised slogans as they welcome Arshad Nadeem, who qualified for the Javelin Throw Final at Tokyo Olympics and secured 5th position worldwide.
Punjab Minister for Youth and Sports Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti, President of the Athletics Federation Pakistan, coaches and athletes received him at the airport.
Speaking to media on occasion, Arshad thanked everyone for their love, prayers and support.
Arshad Nadeem spoke to the media at the airport and thanked all the people who prayed for him.
“I worked hard and came fifth. I got fame in the world due to people’s prayers. I will definitely work hard and play the best game in the future,” he said adding that he would not disappoint his admirers with his performance in future.
The athlete also said he is grateful to the Pakistan Sports Board and Punjab board.
Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti said that due to Arshad Nadeem’s efforts, Pakistan got recognition at global level.

It is pertinent to mention here that Arshad Nadeem secured fifth position during the javelin throw competition in the Tokyo Olympics 2020. He made history by becoming the first-ever Pakistani athlete to qualify for the final of any track and field event in the Olympics.
