According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, shops selling daily-use items, departmental stores, and malls will also close at 8pm

Islamabad: A meeting on petroleum products, chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, has decided that markets, bazaars, and shopping malls across the country—except in Sindh—will close at 8pm.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, shops selling daily-use items, departmental stores, and malls will also close at 8pm.
The statement further noted that bakeries, restaurants, tandoors, and food outlets will close at 10pm, while marriage halls and marquees will remain closed after 10pm as well.
It was also announced that wedding events held in private properties and homes will be prohibited after 10pm.
The meeting decided that medical stores and pharmacies will be exempt from these restrictions.
The decisions taken during the meeting chaired by the Prime Minister will come into effect from April 7.
According to the decision, these measures will be implemented in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir. However, in divisional headquarters of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, markets and shopping malls will be allowed to remain open until 9pm.
The meeting was informed that consultations regarding market timings and related matters are still ongoing in Sindh.
