GNN celebrates its third anniversary today; cake-cutting ceremonies held across Pakistan
Islamabad/Lahore/Multan: GNN, the largest news network in Pakistan, Saturday celebrated its third anniversary side by side the Independence Day of Pakistan.


The cake-cutting ceremonies were held at the head office and all bureaus of GNN to celebrate the anniversary of the largest news network on Saturday.
In Lahore, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar and Speaker Punjab Ch Pervaiz Elahi performed the cake-cutting ceremony at the GNN's head office. Two cakes-one for Pakistan's Independence Day and the other for GNN's anniversary- were cut on the occasion.
Chief Executive Officer GNN Zubair Nawaz Chattha, Chief Operating Officer and renowned analyst Arif Hameed Bhatti, Adviser to the CEO GNN and senior journalist Imran Yaqub Khan, renowned anchors Imran Khan, Ayesha Baksh and Samina Pasha were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Sarwar congratulated the entire team of GNN for celebrating the third anniversary.
"Today is the day of happiness as we are not only celebrating the Independence Day, but also celebrating the GNN's anniversary. This is an established fact that I have become the member of GNN family now," he said.
The governor said the "GNN always runs very good and quality programmes as he and his family use to see these programmes".
In Islamabad, a graceful ceremony was held at the GNN office where leading political figures from government and opposition graced the occasion.
President GNN and renowned analyst Dr Shahid Masood, Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid, Federal Minister for Information Ch Fawad Hussain, Minister Shibli Fraz, Sate Minister for Information Farrukh Habib, Nadeem Afzal Chan, and others performed the cake-cutting ceremony.

Others who joined the ceremony were Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed, PML-N's Marriyum Aurangzeb, Deputy Speaker National Assembly Qasim Suri and others.
"I congrtulate the GNN's management on their third anniversary. In shortest span of time the news channel established its name as a leading news channel in Pakistan," Sheikh Rashid said.
Federal Information Minister Fawad Ch said GNN is the only channel that is working on modren lines and with latest technology. "The channel has put its focus on its studios."
In Multan, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi cut the cake at the GNN's Multan bureau. Speaking on the occasion he said : "I congratulate the GNN management and its entire team for playing its role in promoting professional journalism. I pray for their more successes in professional endeavours".
Governor Sindh Imran Ismail was the chief guest to cut the cake in Karachi.
The governor, speaking on the occasion, said he congratulated GNN and its entire team for completing three years.
"I pray for the success and achievements of news channel in future."
The ceremonies were also held in Peshawar, Quetta, and Faisalabad where important government personalities graced the ceremonies.
