Pakistan successfully launches Electro-Optical Satellite into space

Rawalpindi: Pakistan has successfully launched its Electro-Optical Satellite, EO-3, into space.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the satellite was launched from China’s Tianjin Satellite Launch Centre.

ISPR stated that the launch of the indigenously developed EO-3 satellite marks another significant milestone, reflecting Pakistan’s growing self-reliance and advancement in modern technology.

The statement added that the EO-3 satellite will provide advanced imaging data for urban planning and disaster management. It will also support food security and environmental monitoring through high-resolution imagery.

ISPR further noted that the success of EO-3 will lay the foundation for an integrated Earth observation system. The satellite is expected to assist in achieving national priorities across various sectors and contribute to sustainable socio-economic development.

Meanwhile, the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) formally announced the successful launch of the EO-3 satellite.

On the historic occasion, the Prime Minister commended the professional expertise and dedication of SUPARCO’s engineers and scientists, and reaffirmed appreciation for the continued support of Pakistan’s long-standing partner, China, in the space sector.
