According to details, a grand ceremony was held at the Pakistan Monument in connection with Maarka-e-Haq, where a one-minute silence was observed in honor of all the martyrs of the motherland. Addressing the ceremony, the Prime Minister said that Pakistan had defeated the enemy decisively in Maarka-e-Haq and expressed tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives.
During his speech, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that India made baseless accusations using the tragic Pahalgam incident as a pretext. He said Pakistan’s conscience was clear and that the country maintained patience and restraint. Pakistan, while adhering to peace, had offered transparent investigations, but India responded to this sincere offer with aggression.
The Prime Minister stated that Pakistan’s brave forces gave such a strong response to the enemy that it left them in panic. He said that the courage of Pakistan’s “Shaheens” and the Fatah missiles completely overpowered the enemy, and that Pakistan’s truthful narrative prevailed. He added that the skies were dominated by Pakistan’s fighter jets while the wreckage of enemy aircraft lay scattered. According to him, the Pakistan Armed Forces delivered a historic response to attacks launched under the cover of darkness, proving that the light of truth cannot be extinguished by the blows of falsehood. He further claimed that the enemy requested a halt to the war within four hours.
He added that India has still failed to provide any evidence regarding the alleged Pahalgam false-flag operation. He paid tribute to the sons of the soil who remain custodians of the martyrs’ blood and the nation’s glorious traditions.
Addressing the ceremony, Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan’s armed forces taught the enemy a lesson through professionalism and courage. Under the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, he said, the armed forces wrote new chapters of bravery, and the entire nation salutes him for his leadership and tireless efforts to safeguard Pakistan.
He said the Field Marshal’s wise and courageous leadership would always be remembered. He also praised Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu and the Pakistan Air Force, saying that the “Shaheens” exposed the enemy’s claims of aerial superiority. He further saluted the Naval Chief and every officer and soldier of the Pakistan Navy, adding that the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with its brave armed forces in fulfilling the sacred duty of defending the homeland.
The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to friendly countries for showing solidarity with Pakistan. He said that former U.S. President Donald Trump played an important role in securing a ceasefire between Pakistan and India and helped save millions of lives.
He remarked that if war between the two nuclear-armed nations had continued, the consequences could have been disastrous. He also thanked Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, China, and other friendly countries, saying that Pakistan’s prestige rose globally after the success of Maarka-e-Haq.
He said Chinese President Xi Jinping stood by Pakistan in difficult times, as always, and described Pakistan-China friendship as “higher than the Himalayas and sweeter than honey.”
The Prime Minister further said that Pakistan is playing a full role in promoting peace in the region. He noted that direct talks between the United States and Iran had taken place after 47 years, and praised the efforts of the Deputy Prime Minister and the Field Marshal in facilitating the negotiation process. He added that a response had been received from Iran regarding the proposals presented.
Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan would continue supporting the just struggle of the unarmed people of occupied Kashmir and remains determined to completely eradicate terrorism from the country. He declared that Pakistan would not rest until “Fitna al-Khawarij” and “Fitna al-Hindustan” are eliminated. He also vowed that the sacrifices of the martyrs would not go in vain and that the nation would overcome future challenges through unity, solidarity, and consensus.
In addition, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that May 10 would officially be observed as Youm-e-Maarka-e-Haq (Day of the Battle of Truth), and that the day would be celebrated every year with enthusiasm and spirit, without a public holiday.
Earlier, a grand ceremony was held at the Pakistan Monument to mark one year since the successful completion of Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos and Maarka-e-Haq. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif attended the event.
