Pakistan Tennis Federation and Westminster Academy Launch Historic ‘Rising Tennis Stars’ Programme
Islamabad: In a landmark step toward the development of youth sports in Pakistan, the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) has entered into its first-ever partnership with an educational institution by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Westminster Academy for the launch of the Rising Tennis Stars (RTS) Programme.
The collaboration marks a significant milestone for both organizations and reflects a shared commitment to nurturing young athletic talent through structured education and professional sports training. Westminster Academy, recognized among Pakistan’s leading academic institutions, will now integrate professional-level tennis coaching into its school curriculum under the RTS initiative.
The programme has been introduced under the leadership of Westminster Academy CEO Raheel Sajjad Khan, whose vision for holistic student development continues to redefine educational standards by combining academics with physical excellence and character-building opportunities.
The Rising Tennis Stars Programme aims to identify and cultivate tennis talent from the primary school level through systematic coaching, technical skill enhancement, and physical conditioning. Beyond athletic development, the initiative also promotes healthy lifestyles while instilling essential values such as discipline, teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship among students.
The programme will operate under the direct supervision of PTF President Mr. Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, Senior Executive Vice President Mr. Suleman Junaid, and National Development Director Ms. Sara Mansoor. All training sessions will be conducted by certified and professionally trained coaches to ensure international standards of instruction and athlete development.
Speaking on the occasion, representatives from both institutions highlighted that this partnership establishes a new model for collaboration between Pakistan’s educational sector and national sports organizations. The initiative is expected to create long-term opportunities for young athletes and contribute meaningfully to the future of tennis in Pakistan.
The agreement further reinforces Westminster Academy’s dedication to providing students with comprehensive growth opportunities and positions the institution as a pioneer in integrating elite sports development within the academic framework.
With the launch of RTS, the Pakistan Tennis Federation and Westminster Academy hope to inspire a new generation of tennis players capable of representing Pakistan at national and international levels.
