Field Marshal meets Lebanese Army Chief, pledges to expand defense cooperation
During the meeting, General Rodolphe Haikal appreciated the professionalism and operational capabilities of Pakistan's Armed Forces


Rawalpindi: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met with Lebanon's Army Chief, General Rodolphe Haikal, who is currently on an official visit to Pakistan. The meeting took place at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Lebanese Army Chief praised Pakistan's constructive role in promoting peace and stability in the region during the meeting.
The military spokesperson stated that both sides held detailed discussions on matters of mutual interest, the regional security situation, and defense cooperation. They also agreed to enhance professional military relations and expand training cooperation between the armed forces of Pakistan and Lebanon.
The spokesperson further said that Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir emphasized the importance of the long-standing and friendly relations between Pakistan and Lebanon. He reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to further strengthening defense cooperation with the Lebanese Armed Forces.
During the meeting, General Rodolphe Haikal appreciated the professionalism and operational capabilities of Pakistan's Armed Forces. He also commended Pakistan's contribution to maintaining peace and stability in the region.
The military leadership of both countries expressed their shared commitment to further strengthening military cooperation and agreed to promote institutional ties between their armed forces.
Earlier, upon his arrival at GHQ Rawalpindi, General Rodolphe Haikal, Commander-in-Chief of the Lebanese Armed Forces, was presented with a guard of honor by a smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Army.
