Federal Government decides to continue budget session without interruption until approval
if the budget cannot be approved before Ashura due to any unforeseen circumstances, only the official public holidays for Ashura will be observed.

Islamabad: The federal government has decided to continue the budget session uninterrupted from June 12 until the budget is formally approved by Parliament.
According to sources, the government aims to secure parliamentary approval for the budget by June 23 or 24, before Ashura of Muharram. To achieve this target, the budget session will continue without any breaks, including weekends, with no holidays on Saturday or Sunday.
The government has set a clear objective of passing the budget before Ashura. In this regard, a meeting of parliamentary leaders was held under the chairmanship of National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, where participants agreed that the National Assembly session would continue without interruption until the budget is approved.
During the meeting, parliamentary leaders reviewed the proposed schedule for the budget session and reached a consensus on maintaining continuous proceedings until the passage of the budget.
Sources further stated that if the budget cannot be approved before Ashura due to any unforeseen circumstances, only the official public holidays for Ashura will be observed. Apart from those days, the session will continue without interruption.
The sources also revealed that approval of supplementary grants will be sought after the Muharram holidays. However, the government's primary goal remains to ensure the budget is passed before Ashura.
