Trump claims US-Iran agreement finalized; maritime traffic resumes through Strait of Hormuz
The US president further claimed that alternative routes also exist, although he did not provide additional details.

Washington D.C.: US President Donald Trump has claimed that a deal with Iran has been finalized, stating that maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has resumed and several vessels carrying oil are once again passing through this key shipping route.
In a statement posted on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump said that ships have started moving again, many of them loaded with oil, and are now exiting the Strait of Hormuz.
He added that these vessels are traveling via what he referred to as the “southern highway,” which he described as completely safe, calm, and in excellent condition. The US president further claimed that alternative routes also exist, although he did not provide additional details.
Meanwhile, US Vice President JD Vance, in an interview with CNBC, said that the text of the agreement ending the conflict with Iran and reopening the Strait of Hormuz is expected to be released later this week, while further negotiations on its details are still ongoing.
According to international media reports, JD Vance stated that the United States expects this vital waterway to remain open in the long term without any transit fees.
He said, “We expect the Strait of Hormuz to remain open for a long period without any fees, but important technical points are still being discussed, and we are working together to resolve them.”
The US Vice President further added that he believes some circles in Israel also support the agreement.
He also stated that Iran’s delegation at the signing ceremony is expected to include the Foreign Minister and the Speaker of Parliament, with the event likely to take place on Friday in Switzerland, although he did not specify who would represent the United States.
