Yasmin Rashid says around 35 percent Punjab population vaccinated
Lahore: Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid has said that about 35 percent of Punjab population has been vaccinated against novel coronavirus.
According to local media, the provincial health minister said that Covid-19 cases are surging while the pace was vaccination was a bit slow due to Moharram.
“Around 280,000 people were vaccinated at home against the coronavirus in Punjab,” she added.
She further said that areas coronavirus hotspot areas in the province have been put under smart lockdown.
Pakistan is presently experiencing the fourth wave of coronavirus amid threat of highly contagious Indian delta variant.
According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 3,221 cases of coronavirus were reported while 95 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 24,573.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 1,105,300.
As many as 993,304 patients have recovered from the disease with 4,896 critical cases.
