The Religious Affairs Minister said the registration for next year's Hajj will be completely free and no fee will be charged for it

Islamabad: Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf has formally launched the registration process for next year's Hajj.
Addressing a news conference in Islamabad today, he said the government, with the support of the National Information Technology Board, has completely digitized the Hajj system to ensure transparency, convenience and speedy services.
The Religious Affairs Minister said the registration for next year's Hajj will be completely free and no fee will be charged for it.
He said that registration will be on a "first come, first served" basis and has been made mandatory for both government and private Hajj schemes.
Sardar Muhammad Yousaf said no application can be submitted for Hajj 2027 without registration.
He clarified that those wishing to perform Hajj must have a valid passport, having its validity until November 26, 2027 at least. He further clarified that the registration for next year's Hajj can be made without a passport.
The Minister said the members of a same family will be able to register jointly, while overseas Pakistanis will also be able to get them registered from any country.
Sardar Muhammad Yousaf stressed that the registration can also be completed from home through the online portal or mobile app "Pak Hajj".
Replying to a question, he said negotiations are underway with the Saudi government for increase in Pakistan's Hajj quota.
Answering yet another question, the Minister said this year's Hajj proved to be the most successful Hajj in the history of the country and Pakistani pilgrims were extremely satisfied with the arrangements.
He said the instructions of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif were fully implemented, while the Saudi government and the Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan also cooperated fully for the improvement of Hajj arrangements.
