PM Shehbaz condemns Houthi attacks on Saudi oil tankers, reaffirms Pakistan’s unwavering support

ISLAMABAD -- Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the Houthi militia's attacks on Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea, reaffirming Pakistan's unwavering solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its commitment to safeguarding regional peace and maritime security.

During a telephone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Prime Minister denounced the attacks in the strongest terms, describing them as "completely unacceptable" and a blatant violation of international law.

He said such actions threaten the freedom of navigation and commercial shipping, while undermining regional peace, security and stability.

Reiterating Pakistan's full support for the Kingdom, Shehbaz said he, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and the people of Pakistan stood firmly alongside the Saudi leadership and its people during this critical time.

The Prime Minister also reaffirmed Pakistan's steadfast support for Saudi Arabia's security, sovereignty, territorial integrity and prosperity.

He said Pakistan would continue to work closely with Saudi Arabia and the international community to promote peace, security and stability, while ensuring the uninterrupted flow of maritime trade through the Red Sea and the Strait of Hormuz.

Shehbaz also conveyed his best wishes to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz. The Saudi Crown Prince, in turn, appreciated Pakistan's consistent support and the close fraternal ties between the two countries.
