Threat of delta variant looms large as Pakistan continue to report over 4000 daily cases
Islamabad: Pakistan is presently experiencing the fourth wave of coronavirus amid threat of highly contagious Indian delta variant.


According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 4,373 cases of coronavirus were reported while 74 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 24,713.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 1,113,647.
As many as 999,403 patients have recovered from the disease with 4,939 critical cases.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 376,252 in the province with 11,455 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 416,230 in the province, while the death toll has reached 6,529.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 154,606 in the province with 4,714 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 31,726 confirmed cases while 335 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 30,111 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 672. On the other hand, there are 9,526 cases in GB with 169 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 95,196 cases in the capital city while 836 people have lost their lives.
