PM Shehbaz leaves for three-day official visit to Saudi Arabia, Field Marshal also accompanying
Discussions will focus on consolidating Pakistan-Saudi Arabia bilateral relations as well as the exchange of views on regional and international developments of mutual interest


ISLAMABAD -- Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has left for a three-day official visit to Saudi Arabia.
He is accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi.
The Deputy Prime Minister will join the delegation from Madinah Munawwarah where he made a brief stopover after concluding his visit to Jordan for the Ministerial Meeting on Jerusalem.
During the visit, the Prime Minister will meet Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
Discussions will focus on consolidating Pakistan-Saudi Arabia bilateral relations as well as the exchange of views on regional and international developments of mutual interest.
The Prime Minister will perform Umrah and pay respects at Roza-e-Rasool (Peace Be Upon Him) in Madinah Munawwarah.
The Foreign Office spokesperson said in a statement that, although taking place against the backdrop of heightened tensions in the Gulf, the visit carries significance beyond the immediate crises and short-term considerations.
He said the visit will further strengthen bilateral relations, deepen strategic cooperation, enhance coordination on regional and international issues of mutual interest, and reinforce multilateral cooperation.
