PRA tightens enforcement against fraudulent tax returns, orders data-driven scrutiny
Chairperson orders strict monitoring of tax returns and revenue targets

LAHORE -- The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) is preparing to tighten the noose around taxpayers involved in fraudulent practices in monthly tax returns.
The accuracy of business activities declared in tax returns and the taxes deposited will be scrutinized through data analysis.
A meeting on achieving monthly revenue targets was chaired by Chairperson Punjab Revenue Authority Moazzam Iqbal Sipra. The meeting reviewed the collections achieved by all regional offices and relevant officers against their assigned revenue targets.
Chairperson PRA directed officers to ensure effective monitoring and follow-up to improve the tax return filing rate. He ordered that enforcement activities be accelerated to further broaden the tax base and bring new taxpayers into the tax system.
