Valve just leaked several new videos showing the Steam Frame’s unboxing, setup process, and various accessories. The videos apparently appeared on the ARM Steam client following an update, but they were “quickly pulled after that,” according to the Steam Hardware Updates account on X.
The Steam Frame is Valve’s virtual-reality headset that can stream games from a PC or play them locally. Valve first took the wraps off the headset last year, and it offers LCD screens with 2160 x 2160 resolution per eye, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, and an up to 110-degree field of view. But these leaked videos offer a closer look at what it might be like to unbox and set up the new device.

As shown in one of the videos, Valve shows how you can use the Steam Frame’s “pivot arms” to adjust the position of the headset, as well as how to insert a spacer beneath the face gasket if you wear glasses. Another video details how you can plug the wireless dongle into your PC or Steam Machine to stream games.
There’s an “Ergonomic Accessories Kit” as well, which includes hand straps to keep your hands attached to the controller, along with a top head strap to “improve weight distribution and provide “extra headset stability.” The kit also has an extended light blocker designed for people with smaller noses, as it can better seal the area between their face and the Steam Frame. You can find the links to all of Valve’s leaked videos from this post on Reddit.
Though Valve previously said that it plans to release the Steam Frame this summer, it hasn’t yet shared an exact launch date. Still, that timeframe, these setup videos, and a recent 13-ton shipment of VR headsets could all indicate that a launch is right around the corner.
