Karachi: An earthquake has jolted Karachi and adjoining areas on Saturday afternoon.

According to Met Office, the magnitude of quake was 3.1 at Richter scale, while its depth was recorded as 15 kilometers beneath the earth's surface.
The epicenter of the earthquake was 72 km away.
The tremors spread panic amongst locals, although no loss of life and property was reported from any area.
Earlier on August 19, an earthquake of 4.6 magnitude jolted Swat, Mangora, and adjoining areas. The depth of the quake was recorded as 118 kilometers beneath the earth's surface while its epicenter was Hindukush mountain range.
