According to the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC), more than 200,000 frontline polio workers participated in the vaccination drive to protect children against the virus

WEB DESK -- A week-long sub-national polio immunization campaign across 97 selected districts concluded on Sunday, with approximately 24 million children vaccinated against the crippling disease.
According to the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC), more than 200,000 frontline polio workers participated in the vaccination drive to protect children against the virus.
The NEOC said Pakistan had reported nine polio cases so far this year, warning that the threat of poliovirus continued to persist across the country.
It emphasized that polio is an incurable disease and vaccination remains the only effective way to prevent the lifelong disabilities caused by the virus.
The authorities reiterated the importance of ensuring that every child receives polio drops to help protect the country from the disease.
