Cantonment board polls: ECP issues 'rule of conduct'
Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announced a rule of conduct for cantonment board elections on Monday.
According to details, the ECP has issued the code of conduct to follow the Election Act to monitor the election campaigns of the candidates.
The provisions of the Election Act would be followed as there was no article or provision in the law to supervise the elections of cantonment boards, so the Election Act would be followed.
The ECP has also announced that the policemen, rangers, and Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel would be deployed outside the polling stations to maintain peace on the polling day.
As per the schedule announced by the ECP, the elections of the cantonment boards would be held on September 12, 2021.
