Punjab govt announces reduction in registration charges of necessary events
Lahore: The Punjab government has announced to reduce the charges for registration of vital events.
The decision has been taken keeping in view the financial and procedural difficulties faced by the general public in the registration of birth especially.
The government of Punjab has decided to amend the Punjab Local Government (Registration of Births and Deaths) Rules 2021, upon the recommendations of Secretary LG&CD Department Noorul Amin Mengal and Director-General LG&CD Kausar Khan.
Meanwhile, the charges for registration and issuance of certificates have been decreased considerably. A fee of Rs.200 only instead of Rs.300 will be charged for the issuance of a certificate of any vital events like birth, death, marriage, and divorce. Charges have also been decreased for registration in late categories.
Moreover, the late category of birth registration has been extended from 2 years to 7 years for the convenience of parents.
