‘Third monsoon spell’; Four killed as late-night torrential rain hits Karachi
Karachi: At least four people including a woman and her three children were killed after roof of their house collapsed amid torrential rain that wreak havoc in Karachi last night.


As per details, a woman and her three children died on the spot as roof of house fall down in Orangi Town’s MPR Colony.
The thundershower came at 1:30 am and battered windows and it was just a matter of few minutes for water to start accumulating on the roads and streets— disrupting the traffic flow.
The heavy downpour also brought down temperature considerably but at the same time left several areas inundated.
The low-lying areas on Shahra-e-Faisal were already flooded at arround 2 pm.
Soon after the rain started, parts of the city experienced power cuts.
Following the rains, the Hyderabad Electricity Supply Company (HESCO) feeders tripped as downpour lashed the metropolitan city.
The authorities restored the power supply in some areas after rain stopped while several localities in the city are still without electricity.
On the other hand, the met office has forecast Rain for Karachi September 09 to 11.
However, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a rain warning across the Pakistan.
In addition, District Municipal Corporation (DMC) on its Twitter handle has allegedly shared a video showing municipal staff on streets— cleaning water in some areas.
