Lahore: K2 climber Shehroze Kashif and Olympian Weightlifter Talha Talib on Saturday became the victim of an online scam that involved a swindler who posed as a federal minster.


According to reports, two Pakistani heroes have been looted by a conman, who acted as a fake government minister and gave them a bit of the car to acknowledge their extraordinary performance shown in international games.
The fraudster asked both the hero to pay an amount of Rs325,000 each in a mobile account number in charge of the registration fee of the car and the duty (government tax on vehicles).
Both the innocent heroes trapped and transferred money in the given mobile account number and later came to know that they have been involved in a swindle.
Meanwhile, the fake person used the name of Federal Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan and said to them that he wanted to appreciate their hard work for the nation.
Shehroze Kashif is a Pakistani mountaineer who is the youngest climber in the world to summit K2 on 27 July 2021. He became the youngest Pakistani to summit Everest on 11 May 2021. He climbed Everest at the age of 19. After the successful summit of Mount Everest, Sports Board Punjab made him the youth ambassador of Punjab, Pakistan. He summited Broad Peak at the age of 17, after which he was called “The Broad Boy”.
Talha Talib is a Pakistani weightlifter and national champion in the 62 kg category. He set a new record at the games in snatch as he lifted 132 kg in the third attempt with 127 kg and 130 kg in the first two attempts, respectively. He was also a gold medalist at the 2016 Commonwealth Youth Weightlifting Championships in Penang. He lifted 258 kg to clinch the gold. He is currently the top No. 1 ranked weightlifter of Pakistan. He also performed well in the recent Tokyo Olympics.
