First Lady Samina Alvi tests positive for COVID-19
Pakistan’s first lady Samina Alvi contracts coronavirus.
Islamabad: Samina Alvi, Pakistan’s first lady and wife of President Dr. Arif Alvi has been tested positive for novel coronavirus on Thursday.
The first lady confirmed the news on her Twitter account, writing that she is just feeling weakness and requested all remember her in prayers.
“I was tested positive for covid, a day before. I have a little bit of weakness but Alhamdulillah doing well otherwise. Request all to keep me in your prayers please”, the caption read.

Meanwhile, Pakistan is experiencing the fourth wave of coronavirus which is said to be deadlier and more contagious than previous three COVID waves. Today, the daily Covid-19 positivity rate in country is at 4.89%.
According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 2,357 cases of coronavirus were reported while 58 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 27,432.
The total number of cases has reached 1,232,595. As many as 1,143,605 patients have recovered from the disease with 4,561 critical cases.
