Attempt to smuggle precious stones foiled by Customs at Karachi Airport.
“The seized gemstones are worth more than Rs 11 million,” says customs spokesman.
Customs personnel seizes suspicious import parcels from UAE.
Reportedly, precious stones include 7 types including emerald, coral, ruby, opal.
As per the initial investigation, the parcel was booked as a textile material in the name of a woman named Shahzadi.
The scope of the investigation has been widened by registering a case.
“This is the second major operation of the Airport Collectorate in four days,” says the spokesman.
