Sri Lanka clinched victory over Bangladesh, while successfully chasing down a 172 runs target in the third match of T20 World Cup Super-12 stage played in Sharjah on Sunday.


Batting first, Bangladesh posted a total of 171/4. Thanks to the fifty of Mohammad Naim (scored 62 off 52 balls) and unbeaten fifty from Mushfiqur Rahim (scored 57 off 37 balls).
Earlier, the top order of Bangladesh struggled as Liton Das, managed to score 16 runs while Shakib Al Hasan and Afif Hossain managed to score 10 and 7 runs respectively. Skipper Mahmudullah remains unbeaten on 10.
For Sri Lanka, Chamika Karunaratne, Binura Fernando and Lahiru Kumara took one wicket each.
In the chase, Sri Lanka lost their first wicket as early as the first over when Nasum Ahmed dismissed Kusal Perera for one run.
Charith Asalanka played magnificently and scored unbeaten 80 off 49 balls (strike rate: 163.26). Bhanuka Rajapaksa scored 53 runs.
In the 4th match of Super 12, Pakistan has won the toss and was elected to field first arch-rivals India.
