Karachi: Lahore Qalandars defeated Peshawar Zalmi by 4 wickets to win the first match of the season.

According to details, Lahore Qalandars defeated Peshawar Zalmi by 4 wickets in the second match of the sixth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL). Playing first, Peshawar Zalmi gave Lahore Qalandars a target of 141 runs. While chasing the target, Lahore Qalandars managed to register win in the 19th over of the match.
While batting for Zalmi, Sherfane Rutherford scored 26 runs and Ravi Bopara recorded 50 runs to rebuild the innings but were off the pace. Amad Butt's 23 runs from 11 balls cameo got Zalmi to 140/6. Whereas from Qalandars’ Shaheen Afridi with his 3 wickets of 14 runs was the pick of the bowlers.
Lahore while chasing the target got off to a good start. They did lose a few wickets in the middle to give Zalmi a sniff but Muhammad Hafeez with his outstanding 33* runs and PSL debutant Rashid Khan 27* from 15 balls ensured Lahore won with 9 balls to spare.
It should be noted that Lahore Qalandars won the toss and elected to field first.
