Pakistani climbers on cusp of K2 battle harsh weather

Skardu: Pakistani climber Muhammad Ali Sadpara and his son, who are attempting to summit K2, are facing tough weather conditions.

According to details, Ali Sadpara had announced that he would hoist Pakistan flag at K2 peak on Monday morning, but is facing extreme weather conditions at the second highest peak of the globe without oxygen.

Taking to twitter, he shared a latest update that his team is coming down to the base camp due to harsh weather conditions and assured that everyone is safe and sound.

Earlier, he tweeted that a helicopter has arrived to rescue one of the team members who is in critical condition.

 

Sadpara had also shared a photo of him along with his son and said that they had reached C3 point from the base camp.

 

It is pertinent to mention here that a team of Pakistani mountaineers has begun thier expedition to summit K2, without oxygen in order to set a world record, days after the mountain was scaled for the first time in winter by a Nepalese team.
