Audio clip recorded in Pashto language of Asad Qaiser was leaked yesterday


ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued notice to National Assembly (NA) Speaker Asad Qaiser over violating the code of conduct ahead of local body polls in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
According to the details, the district monitoring officer issued notice to the NA speaker asking him to appear before the ECP on December 13. Many other leaders of other political parties were also issued notices for violating the code of conduct.
The ECP also issued notices to MNA Shaukat Ali, MPA Samar Bilour and directed them to appear before the district monitoring officer on December 12 and 13 respectively.
It is noteworthy here that the audio clip recorded in Pashto language of Asad Qaiser was leaked yesterday, in which he was discussing the development funds.
Moreover, the ECP wrapped up the notice issued to Opposition Leader in KP Assembly Akram Khan Durrani after he apologized and submitted an affidavit that he would not violate the code of conduct again.
A day earlier, the ECP had fined Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and other PPP leaders for violating the ECP’s code of conduct in the first phase of Local Government (LG) elections being held in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
After imposing fine on PTI’s federal minister Ali Ameen Gandapur, the ECP also imposed a fine of Rs50000 various provincial ministers, members of national and provincial assemblies for violating code of conduct.
According to the ECP spokesperson, the district monitoring officer, Peshawar has imposed fine of Rs 50,000 each to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, MNA Syed Khursheed Shah, MPA Saeed Ghani and MNA Qadir Patel on violating code of conduct. While Nighat Aurakzai was issued warning letter, stating that on further violations the case would be sent to ECP for further action.
On the other hand, district monitoring officer, Dera Ismael Khan has slapped a fine of Rs 50,000 on Federal minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Ali Amin Gandapur, Rs 30,000 fine was imposed on member provincial assembly PK-96 Ahmed Karim Kundi, Rs 10,000 on member provincial assembly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Lutufur Rehman.
