Karachi Express to Lahore escaped from a dangerous accident
Sukkur: A passenger train narrowly escaped a major accident in Sukkur on Wednesday morning as the driver’s alertness averted the disaster.
According to details, Karachi Express while travelling non-stop from Karachi to Punjab avoided the disaster after the train’s driver spotted an iron-made object placed on the tracks.
The alert driver timely applied the brakes and was able to stop the train only a few feet away before it could hit the obstacle, saving the lives of the passengers. Obstruction on the track could have caused the accident.
It is pertinent to remember that the bogies of Millat Express going from Karachi to Faisalabad near Ghotki were derailed and fell on the down track immediately after which the Sir Syed Express coming on the down track collided with these bogies.
The tragic accident killed 62 people, including women and children, and injured hundreds.
