Government decides to suspend mobile phone service for 3 days
Foreign Ministry recommends public holiday in Islamabad on December 20
Islamabad: The Ministry of Interior ordered the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to suspend the mobile phone services in Islamabad.
According to the reports, this decision was taken due to the meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which is being held in Islamabad on December 17, 18 and 19.
As per sources in Interior Ministry quoted that mobile phone services would remain suspended on the December 17, 18 and 19 for security reasons in Islamabad due to the OIC meeting. In this regard, the Interior Ministry directed the PTA to shut down the services for three days.
Moreover, the Foreign Ministry has recommended a public holiday in Islamabad on December 20. The purpose of the holiday is to enable full proof security during the VIP movements.
