Karachi: Fixit founder and PTI MNA Alamgir Khan’s father Dilawar Khan was killed in the Karachi blast that occurred in Shershah on Saturday.
According to the reports, twelve people were killed and 12 injured in the explosion occurred at the city's Sher Shah Paracha Chowk area.
PTI leader Khurram Sher Zaman has confirmed that Alamgir Khan’s father among those killed in the Karachi blast on Saturday. He also said that other members of Alamgir Khan’s family are trapped under the rubble.
Alamgir Khan’s father was going into the bank. Dilawar Khan’s automobile showroom was located next to the blast spot.
According to the police, the explosion, which was caused by the accumulation of gases, took place in a sewer illegally covered by a building Multiple people were injured in the blast. A rescue operation is underway at the site to rescue people stuck under the debris.
Earlier, at least 12 people were killed and 12 injured in an explosion occurred at the city's Sher Shah Paracha Chowk area. The explosion occurred in site area near a private bank, resulting damage of other building situated in the area.
Police and rescue official rushed the explosion site.
Rescue officials are shifting the injured to the Civil Hospital for treatment. Among the 12 injured, two are said to be in critical condition.
According to police, the nature of the blast is being determined.
A bomb disposal unit (BDU) has arrived at the location of the blast. Police and Rangers officials have cordoned off the area.
