Gypsy woman, has been elected councillor in the neighbourhood election on the women seats


Bannu: A gypsy woman has been elected as councillor in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa local body elections on Monday for the first time in the history of Bannu.
Shamshad Begum, the gypsy woman, has been elected councillor in the neighbourhood election on the women seats. After the unofficial results, Begum Shamshad and her friends celebrated the victory.
Speaking to the journalists, Shamshad said that she is very happy to be elected and her victory is being celebrated in the town. She said that now she will try her best to solve the problems.
She further maintained that she had come out of her dwelling to solve the problems of the gypsies. She said they have been living in Bannu for a long time and people respect them.
