Admissions to MPhil and PhD in public and private colleges would be illegal and students should refrain from enrolling in these colleges


The Higher Education Commission (HEC) imposed a ban on admissions to MPhil and PhD programmes in colleges.
The HEC has taken a major decision to maintain the quality of MPhil and PhD degrees. The HEC imposed ban on admission to MPhil and PhD in colleges. As per direction, the colleges affiliated to public and private universities have been barred from admissions in MPhil and PhD programmes.
The HEC will not attest MPhil and PhD degrees from affiliated colleges and institutions. HEC has issued student alert on admissions in colleges affiliated to universities. The HEC also clarified that admissions to MPhil and PhD in public and private colleges would be illegal and students should refrain from enrolling in these colleges.
