Pakistan Army rendered numerous sacrifices to establish peace: COAS
Commander of Terrestrial Army Congo lauded professionalism of Pakistan armed forces and its role in UN peacekeeping operations in Democratic Republic of Congo
Rawalpindi: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa said on Wednesday that Pakistan Army is committed to play its part in establishing peace under the United Nations banner.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lt General Sikabwe Asinda Fall, Commander of Terrestrial Army Congo called on COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa at GHQ.
During the meeting, matters pertaining to mutual interest, regional security situation, and scope of military cooperation to include defence, training and security between the two countries were also discussed.
On the occasion, the army chief said that Pakistan Army is committed to play its part in establishing peace under the United Nations banner. “We have rendered numerous sacrifices for this noble cause. Pakistan views Congo as a key Country in the African Continent and we appreciate Congo’s role towards regional peace,” he added.
The visiting dignitary lauded the professionalism of Pakistan armed forces and its role in UN peacekeeping operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Lt General Sikabwe Asinda Fall also vowed to enhance cooperation in various fields between the two militaries.
