Rawalpindi: A picnic ended in tragedy after boat carrying at least 35 school-children and four teachers overturned in to the Khanpur Dam Lake on Tuesday.
According to preliminary reports, one of the teachers was killed and four students are being said to be in critical condition.
Reportedly, the two-storey boat hit a rock as the water levels were low.
The female teacher died after being drowned into the lake, while 35 students were rescued by officials.
Rescue 1122 Service control room received a distress call and teams were immediately rushed to the site and the divers started searching for the victims.
